Am I a candidate for an Accent Laser Procedure?

Good candidates for the Accent Laser treatment may be people who:

  1. Have stubborn pockets of fat or cellulite that are resistant to diet and exercise
  2. Want a safe and effective solution to get rid of these problem areas without surgery
The Accent Laser treatment is not a weight loss solution, but is a series of treatments to reduce "girth". A good nutrition and exercise program should also be followed to optimise results.

What is an Accent Laser Procedure?

Accent Laser treatment is a non-invasive, non-ablative, controlled heat therapy method that uses radiofrequency (RF) technology for body shaping, skin tightening and cellulite improvement. Laser cellulite removal is a popular alternative for both men and women who want to lose cellulite and fat, or improve the appearance of the skin without the need for invasive surgery.

Accent Laser treatments can create dramatic change in the appearance of cellulite the need for invasive surgery, anesthetics or any downtime. Cellulite is the abnormal storage of fat in the fat cells (adipocytes) under the skin. The fat cells are grouped together into large areas and are separated by fibrous strands which run between the muscle and the skin. As the fat cells expand with weight gain, the gap between muscle and skin expands but the fibrous strands cannot stretch, which results in the “dimpling” characteristic of cellulite. Cellulite is mostly a problem in the buttock and thigh area but can affect all areas, irrespective of whether the individual is young or old, underweight or overweight.

Laser skin tightening procedures such as the Accent Laser can be used for body and facial contouring and skin tightening effects. The Accent Laser treatment is quick, effective and almost painless. Patients have described the treatment as feeling like a "warm massage".

The Accent Laser procedure takes less than an hour and requires no recovery time, unlike other surgical fat removal procedures such as liposuction for example. Three to six Accent Laser treatments are normally needed to obtain optimal results, hich are long-lasting. Side effects and risks are minimal, and though while the majority of patients experience slight redness and swelling, this disappears after a day or two.

The Accent Laser uses dual radio frequency technology (RF2) to provide controlled tissue heating to fatty tissue and cellulite, from 2mm to 6mm depth under the skin. The handpiece also cools the treatment area to make the procedure more comfortable and to protect the skin.

The Accent Laser works by breaking down cellulite; releasing and flushing away toxins and fatty deposits; draining excess fluid; and boosting collagen production to improve the skin’s appearance. The Accent Laser treatment targets key areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise, while simultaneously improving the texture and tone of the skin. Results are immediately visible after each treatment.

Accent Laser Procedure Steps

The Accent Laser procedure takes around 45 minutes:

  1. Your Accent Laser practitioner will gently apply the hand piece to the area to be treated, and the RF technology precisely heats the inner layers of skin.
  2. As the dermis is heated, a natural reaction occurs that promotes the creation of new collagen, while also releasing toxins in the fat, draining retained fluids and improving skin texture. Little or no discomfort should be felt.
Results are immediately obvious, with fat and cellulite reduced, and skin appearance improved.
